The Disability Project is aimed at assisting the Differently Able people living in the Ilankai’s northern and eastern provinces.
We believe that the position of disabled people in society is a human and civil rights issue and that it is essential that CCD should take a lead in addressing these issues, by providing rehabilitation assistance and through income generating initiatives removing the barriers to social inclusion.
CCD’s projects incorporate
Emergency Relief Program;
Rehabilitation and Empowerment Program through Livelihood support and advocacy;
Child Development program;
Health Care and Assistive Aids and Equipment’s Programproviding medical support and assistance, through access to Medical Treatment, Assistive Aids and Equipment’s, Community Transport, Sports & Cultural activities;
The Community Transport Programis where a free transport service is offered to medical and health care centres for people with disabilities, who require ongoing visits to their local doctor, specialist or hospitals due to the severity of their condition.
Sports and Cultural initiatives are fun activities meant to make people feel good, gain confidence in their physical abilities and their bodies, strength, enrich lives and the will to endure and recognition by others.
